My Life 101

D. Knight's Mix Tape "My Life 101" drops today and from the pre-released tracks it's making Kanye Wests' mixes look like child's play. From New York to Miami via Houston D. Knight is rounding out the haters and serving up a positive influence of sound with more than just rap, but soul, electronica, mixing rock and anything else he can get his hands on.

In "1982" you can see the beauty of his control in music theory with his clever use of breaks and key changes. "Private Call" shows just how intoxicating love can truly be, and once again how creative D. really is. Not since Pink Floyd have I heard an artist using sound to reproduce being high, and in this instance being "high on a girl." "Street Champions" brings the rock influence with more than just a memorable rock anthem and much more than P.Diddy saying "yeah uh-huh yeah" over Jimmy Page and Led Zeppelin's song "Kashmir." It brings a positive message that makes such a simple but motivational power of hope for anyone just trying to keep keeping on.

But there is much more to D. than the music. "Momma it's alright" a poem by D. Knight posted on his site www.dkemusic.com shows the actual beauty of this man's words and at the same time the pain of life that brings us from being helped by family to being the person who helps. Being the oldest of seven and graduating high school at an early age, taking him to New York through college than to Miami building his reputation makes him a true "Go Ghetta." His success is in his name and he's on his way to making an even bigger success with "My Life 101" Check it out at www.d-knight.net or go to www.myspace.com/dknighteternal for more info on the man, the success and his vision.
